The role

We are currently seeking Senior Civil Engineer / Project Manager - Urban Development to manage a number of our most complex and high profile urban development and residential subdivision projects from our office located on the Sunshine Coast.

This role requires a minimum of 10+ years’ experience, preferably in Queensland’s land development market, to successfully deliver land development projects on behalf of our Urban Engineering business. Reporting to the Manager Urban Development, you will play a key role in the co-ordination and management of major projects across the entire project life cycle including feasibility, design and construction management. Core responsibilities include:

  • Provision of project management and project governance disciplines to achieve reliable project performance in terms of sophistication, timeliness and quality
  • Financial management, client liaison and contract administration of assigned projects
  • Oversight and governance of projects to resolve project issues and ensure project product is of high quality
  • Promotion and application of internal project management requirements
  • Provision of coaching and support to project personnel
  • Technical problem solving
  • Building and maintaining strong and effective client relationships

Suitable applicants will have/be:

  • Urban residential land development experience
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering (preferably with RPEQ status)
  • Knowledge of relevant design standards, codes, Local Regulatory Authority Guidelines and Australian Standards
  • Working knowledge of 12d and AutoCAD
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of technical engineering elements, implementation and governance of quality control process, financial and project management
  • A track record of achievement in a similar role and a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work
  • Knowledge of contract administration and construction supervision would be advantageous
