The role

SMEC is home to a growing studio of Landscape Architects with a diverse portfolio of projects.  An opportunity exists for a talented and driven Experienced / Senior Landscape Architect to join our Gold Coast studio in the delivery of Landscape Architectural and Urban Design projects primarily in Queensland and Northern Territory.

Significant opportunity exists for someone looking to take the next step in their career within a growing Landscape Architecture and Urban Design Studio. The successful candidate will have between 5-10 years' experience spanning the full project lifecycle from feasibility and visioning through to construction and delivery. Be involved in a broad spectrum of project typologies, including but not limited to:

  • Infill and greenfield residential developments and associated parks, play spaces, streetscapes and urban artworks
  • Town Centres, foreshores
  • Low and mid-rise apartment developments and medium-high density infill projects
  • Major road and infrastructure projects and associated Urban Design elements
  • Strategic landscape planning work
  • Land rehabilitation and regeneration projects
  • 3D visualisation work

The suitable applicant will demonstrate:

  • Experience in managing projects and clients with oversight from senior Studio leaders
  • An eye for quality design and the ability to develop compelling conceptual design work in conjunction with the Studio leaders
  • Strong graphic communication skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and an ability to develop design work from concept into quality design documentation
  • Knowledge of the tender and construction process and the production of cost estimates and contract documentation
  • Experience in the use of the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and Indesign
  • A willingness to grow and expand in your role
  • Experience in site supervision and contract administration and / or proficiency in using Sketchup, Rhino and VRay will be looked upon highly favourably
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen or hold a valid working visa
