About The Role

At SMEC, we pride ourselves in having a strong team of technical specialists who both support and are supported by the next generation of Landscape Architects.

Due to our continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen at our Gold Coast office for a Graduate Landscape Architect with a minimum 12 months to around 5 years’ experience.

As a graduate in our Landscape Architecture team, you will have access to a range of professional development opportunities, collaborate with our global team of specialists and be mentored by passionate leaders. Your skills and knowledge will be stretched through collaborative projects with some of the most respected specialists in the industry including the wider multi-disciplinary business of environmental scientists, engineers, community engagement specialists and designers.

In this role, you will support in the provision of landscape design services for projects including but not limited to; landscape and open space planning, detailed concept designs and documentation, landscape master plans, water sensitive urban design and streetscapes.

About You

With a minimum of a degree in Landscape Architecture or similar, we are looking for someone who brings passion and creativity to this role.

In addition, suitable applicants will have/be:

  • Minimum 12 months’ post study experience
  • Ability to deliver Landscape Architecture solutions, and successfully manage time to meet project deadlines
  • Proven exposure to Landscape Architecture (Gained either during industrial placement or since graduation)
  • Experience in the use of the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and Indesign;
  • 3D modelling and visualisation capabilities. Proficiency in using Sketchup, VRay and 3D Studio Max will be looked upon highly favorably;
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and an ability to produce quality design documentation;
  • Knowledge of the tender and construction process and the production of cost estimates, BOQs and contract documentation preferred
  • Ability to appropriately apply theoretical knowledge in practice
  • Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • An eye for quality design and the ability to develop compelling conceptual design work in conjunction with the Studio leaders;
