The Urban Development Consulting Division of SMEC employs professional staff including Civil Engineers, Surveyors, Town Planners, Urban Designers and Master Planners, Landscape Architects and Project Managers.  We provide integrated consulting services needed to plan, design, construct and manage projects from concept to completion.

The role 

Our Urban business is looking for Experienced Civil Drafters to join our Melbourne Team. The successful candidates will preferably be experienced in drafting design packages to support the successful delivery of large multi-lot residential subdivisions, primarily in Melbourne’s outer metropolitan area. Relevant Civil Drafting experience in the Land Development industry is required plus AutoCAD  experience ranging from 2 to 10 years.

In summary, we are seeking demonstrated experience and relevant proficiency in the following:

  • AutoCAD
  • Land subdivision and Civil Engineering drafting (preparation of plans for construction)
  • Diligent and ambitious in approach
  • LISP routines, layer managers, XREF’s, annotative text and scales
  • Proven ability to be flexible and resourceful

As a member of the Survey CAD team, you will be responsible for the preparation of plans to Statutory and Authority Standards and be a key member contributing proactively to help drive initiatives within the group. You will also play a key role in the delivery of major residential estates for signature urban developments across Melbourne’s fast-growing metropolitan environment.

  • High level understanding of AutoCAD software
  • minimum 2+ years’ professional industry experience
