The role

We are currently seeking a Senior/Associate Electrical Engineer who will be responsible for undertaking design work in rail team.

You will be involved in engineering work in conjunction with feasibility studies, load calculations, substation and transmission line design; cable design and reticulation, lighting design, site-inspections, condition assessments.  Work may also involve checking input from others (including sub-consultants) and will have ideally experience in:

  • HV (66/33/11 kV) reticulation;
  • Indoor and Outdoor HV switchgear (ACCBs);
  • Substations & rectifiers (1500V);
  • Aerial and buried cables (including in Combined Services Routes);
  • DC Circuit breakers (1500V);
  • Earthing & bonding
  • LV reticulation, distribution boards and power supplies (e.g. to lifts, lighting, plant and equipment);
  • SCADA and protection systems.

With a track record of achievement in a similar role, you will have gained your experience in an engineering design consultancy and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.

Suitable applicants will have/be:

  • Bachelors Degree (Engineering) accepted by IEAust.
  • Eligible for Chartered Professional Engineer IEAust or equivalent.
  • Rail background
  • The demonstrated ability to consistently undertake key technical tasks independently across a broad range of small to medium profile project

With a track record of achievement in a similar role, you will have gained your experience in an engineering design consultancy and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.
