The role

Due to continued business growth we have a career opportunity for a high performing Principal Water Resources Engineer to join our team based in Sydney.  Your primary focus will be to provide technical input, co-ordination and project delivery activities across NSW in collaboration with the wider SMEC business.

With a minimum of 15 years' industry experience, you will play a key role in:

  • Providing leadership and proactively collaborating with Flooding and Drainage team members, contributors and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness and co-ordination of project deliverables
  • Providing expert advice and demonstrating advanced technical skills, ensuring that analysis and design tasks undertaken meet appropriate technical standards and the requirements of the client and SMEC
  • Demonstrating high level project management skills while accomplishing project deliverables to the required standard and in a timely manner
  • Significant active contribution to the commercial success of projects and the team and contributing to successful business development

Suitable applicants will have/be:

  • Chartered Professional Engineer
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering
  • 15+ years’ professional industry experience in Water Resources
  • Experience of delivering technical projects within a consultancy environment both in a Design and Project management capacity.
  • The ability to prepare successful proposals with the correct scope and budget
  • The ability to submit technical reports to a high standard requiring minimal correction; and provide final review of reports
