The Role
We are seeking to engage a Treasury Analyst for our Group Finance Team in Melbourne. Reporting to the Group Treasury Manager & Funds Controller, you’ll be responsible for assisting with all Treasury activities of the SMEC Group and all other SJ investments and projects in Australia and New Zealand.
This includes cash and liquidity management, inter-group funding, control of bank account management and operations and assist with bank guarantee issuance. In addition, you'll also provide support to the Group Treasury Manager & Funds Controller on ad-hoc project work.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Liaise with GSS on proposed weekly payroll and creditor payments;
- Manage and prioritise payments to optimise cash and liquidity usage;
- Review daily cashflow report prepared by GSS for trend analysis;
- Develop cashflow forecast for the business to identify funding needs and assist with decisions around dividends and repatriation of funds (loan repayment)
- Review bank accounts to ensure sufficient funds are available for weekly payments and excess foreign currency is flagged for conversion to AUD;
- Work with the business to develop cashflow forecast
- Receive intercompany funding requests from the regions and manage transfer of funds;
- Communicate funding requests with SJ Treasury, Corporate Finance and GSS;
- Ensures control of bank account management and operations in accordance with Group Policy and Mandate;
- Assist business with opening/closing of bank accounts;
- Review bank account signatories and update as required;
- Provide banks with KYC information as required;
- Review and monitor user access to ANZ Transactive
- Work with the business to issue guarantees as required by business projects;
- Liaise with the banks to issue guarantees under approved facilities;
- Responsible for ensuring EBS is up-to-date with guarantee information and updating once guarantees are issued;
- Monthly reconciliation of bank guarantees on issue between EBS and bank records;
- Is the point of contact between the business and Treasury for bank guarantee requests
About You
Suitable applicants will be/have:
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or another business-related field
- Professional certification such as CPA or CA (highly desirable)
- Relative experience working within a Corporate Treasury or banking environment with strong experience in Trade Finance, liquidity management, international fund flows and Australian payments;
- Exceptional ability to extract data from disparate sources, manipulate data and perform analyses using advanced techniques;
- Ability to interpret and communicate information of a complex nature;
- Strong understanding of corporate governance, internal controls and compliance;
- Problem solving / analytical skills;
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
